TNIV Reference Bible has arrived!

tniv-referenceWhoo-hoo, both Debbie and I received free review copies of the newest TNIV Reference Bible: Renaissance Fine Leather Edition in the mail today! Debbie won hers through Rick Mansfield’s Gatekeeper contest and I got mine through TC Robinson’s giveaway deal he set up with Zondervan!

Here’s the description from the Zondervan website:

Perfect for pastors and teachers who have adopted the TNIV translation—it’s just what they requested in a reference Bible: premium leather binding, single column, full references, two ribbon markers, black-letter edition.

The TNIV Reference Bible is the perfect TNIV for a more in-depth study of God’s Word. The TNIV is the newest translation of God’s Word with the most up-to-date scholarship available today, and it is now available in this larger-format, single-column setting.

Because it is easy to read (no study notes or visuals to clutter the page), it is perfect for use anywhere from the college campus to the church auditorium to the airplane seat.

The full set of cross references aid in studying the biblical text from Genesis to Revelation, and a helpful set of bottom-of-the-page topical ties creates a topically oriented study path to expand this Bible’s flexibility. A helpful concordance is also included—a must in any reference Bible. This black-letter edition of the TNIV is the best, most comprehensive reference Bible available today.

  1. A video review?! That would be nice. My copy arrived as well, and it is now my daily reading bible. It is fabulous.

  2. I know, I did it last night, and now need to edit it, it’s pretty corny though so I have to think about if I need to do another one or if I really want to put it up yet…. also, as it is, it’s 15 min long. Too long, I might have to redo it in smaller segments.

  3. Man, you guys are lucky. I am hoping that my wife gets me this for Christmas. I could just go and buy it, but it is Christmas time and I usually stop buying anything after the last week of October. I have a feeling she is going too, but then again if history is any sign, I doubt I will get it, and have to buy my own come the New Year.

  4. It is safe to say that if you make heavy use of the TNIV translation, then this is the edition to have as far as quality of construction goes. The leather should stand up to heavy usage and it has two ribbon markers to boot.

  5. I’m envious…no jealous…no coveting…no HAPPY for you – I can’t wait to get my hands on one (hint hint Christmas is coming)

  6. Hi
I have had to import mine into the UK as nothing even comes close over here! So it has cost me quite a lot of money the pound is not so good for imports just now. Anyway worth every penny, it is as you say the TNIV to have if you use it as your main translation. The leather is so soft and supple, overall quality great, like the two ribbons, only gripe is the cover is paper lined with average quality paper and I wish it was leather. Still a great Bible……

  7. is the tniv reference edition going to be available in stores soon, have’nt sen it yet, despite the the criticisms aimed at the TNIV I like it much more than the NLT, both of which tend to be gender neutral but I find the TNIV to be truer to the cultural context than the NLT therefore much more viable.

  8. Both editions of the TNIV Reference Bible are in stores as of around two weeks ago. If you can’t find it locally, you can always try online, such as Amazon.com
